Charlie Allison

Charlie Allison is one of English cricket’s most exciting young prospects - a technically sharp, confident batter whose rapid rise through the ranks is fuelled by hard work and a fearless approach to the game.

Born in Colchester in 2005, Charlie came through the Essex County Cricket Club pathway, progressing from the youth system to the senior squad. After impressive performances at Second XI level, he made his professional debut during the 2023 Metro Bank One-Day Cup, immediately showing his ability to adapt and perform on the big stage.

He followed that up with a standout first-class century (140) against Surrey in 2024, a breakthrough innings that demonstrated his maturity, shot selection and confidence under pressure. That knock, alongside consistent white-ball contributions, marked Charlie as one of the most promising young batters in the domestic game.

Off the back of that form, Charlie earned selection for the England Under-19s, confirming his place among the next generation of England hopefuls.

Now an established member of the Essex squad, Charlie continues to refine his game - combining technique with intent, and a grounded mentality with a hunger to improve.
